![]() ![]() Please note: While I would do this (method B) myself, I don't necessarily recommend it to others because there a lot of things to mess up here. To use the backup hard drive, you have to pray that the board didn't fry and that the problem is just the internal mechanics (like it normally is), take the pcb board off the recognized good hard and put it on the other hard drive, and then you should have a working secondary. ![]() If you want to do a work around though, you can:Ī) Fingure out how to change the serial # yourself orī) Get another hard drive that is exactly the same, down to the revision model, then clone the two drives bit per bit. You can copy it bit for bit and it will still not run the machine. The hdd's are tied to the motherboard with the machines serial number so nobody can reproduce them to run on another machine, but you knew that I'm sure. ![]()
